Parque Diversiones (Amusement Park): A world of fantasy, well-being and education that generates support to help the Costa Rican National Children’s Hospital “Dr. Carlos Sáenz Herrera.”

Parque Diversiones was founded by the Asociación Pro-Hospital Nacional de Niños on December 18, 1981 under the motto "The healthy child helps the sick child." Its objective is to contribute through the donation of high-tech medical equipment which is not included in the regular budget of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund for the National Children's Hospital. Parque Diversiones has both mechanical and aquatic attractions, and for the last 40 years it has provided joy and safe fun to Costa Rican families. As it has continued to be a popular entertainment alternative in Costa Rica, it has become the only amusement park in the world whose goal is to work for a pediatric hospital. Through Parque Diversiones, the National Association of Children also manages the Santiago Crespo Shelter, which provides lodging and meals to families who reside outside the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM) and lack the financial resources to stay in San José.

The mission of Parque Diversiones is "To provide a world of fantasy, safe fun and excellent services to our guests, with the purpose of providing well-being and education to Costa Rican society and generating surpluses to make donations to the National Children's Hospital."

Service motto: “We smile so that more children can smile.”
