The Caribbean has thousands of spots that allow you to capture your best moments while sightseeing. Its beaches, sunsets, rivers, streets, buildings – there are many stages waiting to be set for your next photo.

Let us show you some of the scenes that will make you fall in love when you visit – we couldn’t resist a quick selfie, and we’re sure you won’t be able to either!

1. Limón’s Malecón

The malecón, or seaside promenade, of Limón is very close to Parque Vargas. The heart of the province is an ideal place to watch the sun set while enjoying a shaved ice or a delicious patty. In addition to a lovely photo, you’ll have the chance to experience Caribbean culture.

Address: in front of Parque Vargas or the Limón City Hall.

2. Playa Cocles

A visit to this beach is mandatory on your Caribbean vacation. It is famous for its white sand and turquoise water, giving it an idyllic appearance. The beach is peaceful in the dry season, just right for a quick dip and sunbathing, while in winter it becomes the perfect spot for surfers looking for the perfect wave. The beach offers perfect portrait settings at sunset and sunrise.

Address: Head to Puerto Limón, and then turn right towards Cahuita and Puerto Viejo before entering the city. Once you reach Puerto Viejo, keep going for about 3 km (1.9 miles) until you reach Playa Cocles.

3. The Bob Marley House

A very special cabin awaits in the canton of Talamanca, by Manzanillo Beach. This small house has been painted green, yellow and red, with a painting of Bob Marley, the famous Jamaican singer. If you’re a fan of his music, this is the perfect spot for a selfie on a visit to Manzanillo. The house is uninhabited, so it’s just a matter of going there and taking the perfect photo.

Address: Behind Maxi’s restaurant in Manzanillo.

4. Manzanillo Viewpoint

Located inside the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. The beach is incredible, with excellent snorkeling or diving options in the crystal-clear water and surprising reefs. When you enter the refuge, you’ll have to walk for about 1 km until you reach the steps that will take you up to the viewpoint. We’re sure that these will be some of your best photos. Entrance is free of charge and it is open seven days per week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Address: From Puerto Viejo, continue along the highway for 14 km (8.5 miles) and you will reach Playa Manzanillo.

5. Swing in Puerto Viejo

We found this swing, the perfect spot for a beach photo in Puerto Viejo. It’s right behind a restaurant with a ship run aground as a backdrop. You can’t miss it – as you walk along the coastline, you’ll see the ship. We’re not sure why the ship is there, but what we do know is that it gives a kind of melancholy touch to the photo. With a sunset in the background it’ll look even better.
