1. CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK

Parque Nacional Corcovado. Foto: Roberto RamosThe Corcovado National Park is home to the last of the Tropical Wet Forests in the Meso-American Pacific. Its location, climatic characteristics, and changing soil and topography conditions make it a site for amazingly diverse biological species.

Its flora includes thousand of species, many of which are scarce and have even disappeared in other regions. The fauna also stands out for its diversity of species, even more so when considering that many are in danger of extinction.

LOCATION: Located on the Osa Peninsula, Puntarenas, on the Pacific side of Costa Rica.

SERVICES OFFERED: In Puerto Jiménez: local guides and general information. In the Sirena biological station: hiking trails, potable water, restroom services, camping areas, radio communication, a landing strip, lodging, and food services.

2. BALLENA MARINE NATIONAL PARK

Volcán Poás. Foto: Roberto RamosThis area was created to ensure the survival of critical habitats for marine species' reproduction and nesting, as well as to preserve the productivity of biological communities that inhabit the coastal areas.
The Ballena Marine National Park is surrounded by beautiful scenery. Because of its scientific value, it is a great place for environmental education and tourism development. In the waters you can find common and bottled-nosed dolphins, and during certain times of the year, even humpback whales.

LOCATION
: It is located on the Pacific coastline between the Punta Uvita isthmus and Punta Piñuela in the Cortés district, Osa, Puntarenas.
